Department of Computer Engineering- Laboratories

Electrical Measurements Laboratory

The Electrical Measurements Laboratory is well-equipped with a comprehensive range of instruments, including Wheatstone Bridge, Kelvin’s Double Bridge, Schering Bridge, Slide Wire and Student Potentiometers, Vernier Potentiometers, Phase-Shifting Transformers, Lux Meters, and other precision measuring devices. This facility enables students to gain hands-on experience in experimentally verifying the fundamental theorems of Electrical Engineering.
In this lab, students receive practical training in the calibration of voltmeters, ammeters, and wattmeters using potentiometers. They also learn to calibrate energy meters at different power factors through both direct loading and phantom (simulated) loading methods.

Electrical Machines Laboratory

The Electrical Machines Laboratory is a core facility of the department, playing a vital role in the study and application of power systems. It is well-equipped with a wide range of DC and AC machines, including various types of transformers. The primary objective of the laboratory is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of electrical machines such as DC motors and generators, induction motors, synchronous machines, alternators, and transformers.
The experiments conducted in the lab are carefully designed to reinforce theoretical concepts and provide hands-on experience with the construction, operation, and performance analysis of these machines. In addition to undergraduate and postgraduate instruction, the laboratory supports research activities and student projects under faculty guidance, contributing to innovation and deeper exploration in the field of electrical machines.
