Electrical engineering department of MIT POLYTECHNIC is equipped with state of art laboratory and complete setup of tools and equipment’s required to enhance technical knowledge of students. Computer education in college helps the students to get access to the extensive world of information. computer lab is very special because it incorporates a great many of essential and useful features in itself. A high-speed Local Area Network connection through the Institute’s central facilities, ensure that all students and faculty have the most modern computing facilities, including round-the clock internet to meet their academic and research needs. Providing us with computer labs is one great step taken by the College authorities towards teaching computer literacy within the college.


Electrical Machines are a major part of Power System. Electrical Machines Laboratory of the department is well equipped with different type of DC and AC Machines and Transformers. The objectives of Electrical Machines Laboratory are toimpart deep understanding of all types of DC Machines, AC Machines (such as Induction and Synchronous Motors, Transformers, DC Generator and Alternators). The experiments performed to the students are designed such as to make them understand about the theory and working of all these machines. The laboratory is also used for research activities in area of machines and to carry out the project work assigned by faculty from time to time.


The lab is equipped with various types of electrical measuring instruments like Whetstones Bridge, Kelvins Double Bridge, Schnerings bridge, Slide wire and students’ potentiometers, vernier potentiometers, Phase shifting transformers, lux meters etc. The basic theorems in Electrical Engineering are experimentally verifiedin this lab. Students are trained in calibration of voltmeters, ammeters & watt meters using potentiometers and calibration of energy meters at various power factors by direct and phantom loading.


Electrical workshop provides a platform for all kind of practical jobs like domestic wiring, fittings, drilling job, switchboard assembly, coil winding, repair and maintenance work of various electrical appliances. It is designed especially for the certificate and diploma students. It has its optimum utilization for the assembly work, component testing and troubleshooting of devices and circuitries in students’ projects. This laboratory is equipped with automatic coil winding machine, insulation testers, earth testers, single phase & three phase transformers as well as loads to carry out any experimental/demonstration work.


The laboratory is established to impart the basic knowledge of various fundamentalsof Electrical Engineering. The experiments are so designed to serve the usage to allbranches of diploma students. The experiments are conducted on wide ranges of instruments, these instruments are highly accurate and reliable for their usage and also follows protection and safety for both user and equipment. The experiments include all the basics and essentials of the subject, this involves knowledge to solve series & parallel circuits, KCL, KVL, formulation and analysis of the circuits, understanding principles of electromagnetism to implement them in electrical rotating machines & transformers, identification of various electrical machines according to their applications.


The lab is dedicated to delivering competent electronics engineers to the arena of thereal world. This lab provides state of the art Electronics education with skillorientedtraining to the youth of the region to meet the present and future industrial requirements. This lab deals with study of electronics components, and design of electronic circuits, various electronics equipment’s and its repairing and basics of both analog and digital electronic communications. Students utilize the modern lab equipment to carry out design and testing of various advanced projects.


Switchgear protection is very important in any modern power system network. From power generation to distribution, switchgear helps run the electrical appliances in astreamlined manner and protects the equipment from overload Short-Circuit damage. When the power in terms of Current & voltage are escalated at a rapid pace,the Switchgear comes under the action & quickly controls the damage of electrical circuit. From this is where the inception of switchgear and protection devices happened in the newest form. Switchgear can be defined as a basic way that it is combination of Switching device & controlling device which is associated to current interruption device including control circuit, measuring instrument, metering, regulation & others associated equipment’s of electrical power system.
